Practicum Done....check!

Sorry if at times it seems like I drop off the face of the Earth. School has been crazy! I'm surviving though. I just spent 4 weeks taking a class called Practicum. I've been going to an out-patient clinic 12 hours a week and working with a therapist there. He tried to show me the ways of the therapist. I was at a disadvantage because we haven't learned too much yet. All of our classes this semester will give us the basic foundation we need to be a therapist. I'm hoping by the end of the semester I will be comfortable with the material, in preparation for our first clinical affiliation. I will be working with a therapist at LDS Hospital for six weeks, starting in May. I'm excited for the opportunity, but I still feel there is so much to learn.

I've also taken up rock climbing in my free time Saturday afternoons(it really isn't free time, but I do it anyway). I wish that I had more strength so I could climb longer, but that will come. Even if I can't get anyone to come climbing with me, I've found bouldering to be a great forearm workout.

My second love is spinning. I've heard about it for a long time and just never had a desire to try it. I love mountain biking, but I thought stationary bikes would be boring. I was proven wrong. While it is nothing compared to a gorgeous mountain scene, there is nothing better than pushing yourself to go farther than you thought you could. The class can get pretty intense sometimes, but it is worth it every time I go. Black lights, music to get your blood pumping and a coach to push you to your best; seems like a great combination to me.
