So here is the post I promised.
Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend a seminar called the Power of Choice. I know people are often skeptical of these type of things, but almost my entire family had already attended and I saw the change that happened for them.
I first heard about Power of Choice in March when a couple of my family members attended (okay it was like eleven of them). A lot of the information sounds familiar, but they organize it in a way that your brain can process together and put it to use immediately. I wanted to attend the seminar for a while, but school came first and then I went to Oregon for a clinical and then Amanda graduated from BYU-Idaho. August was my chance.
I've had a lot of traumatic things happen in my life, not that different from most people I've found. Growing up is just a hard thing. I've had a difficult time processing those events and living my life to the fullest. I've been convinced that those things would haunt me for the rest of my life. I've tired so many ways of overcoming them and every time it either made my outlook worse or I just couldn't do it on my own. I've tried counseling, self help books, etc.
During Power of Choice, I started to feel empowered. I could do anything inside those walls. I could take on the world. They have a class after this seminar called Power 90. It is a 90 day system of learning tools more in depth and working on a 90 day goal to accomplish a huge goal you have for your life. You have an opportunity to sign up for it at the end of the seminar. I sat there and stared at the paper for 5-10 minutes. I knew I wanted to do it, but I had doubts as to how it would all work out. I started talking to my brother about it and in the processes started crying. First I am usually a closet crier. Crying in front of people is unusual for me, but here I was crying in front of 60 plus people. I would get it under control and then something would trigger it again. I think I sat there and cried for over an hour as the seminar was finishing. I couldn't pin down why I was crying. I think the idea of delving into my past and overcoming life was daunting to me.
I have been able to keep up on my learning in Power of Choice. I've done 5 choice processes in which I identify a negative belief from my past and transform it into a new belief that will work for me in my life. I feel like I am discovering me, who I have always been underneath the layers of false beliefs that have been holding me back. I'm not saying that I will be become someone else, but I will be authentically me, free from doubt and the false (made up by me) judgement I feel from others.
I am a Prism of Power!
I am Fabulous beyond all belief!
I am pure before God and Myself!
I am Fiercely talented!
I am a Force of Light and Truth!
These are a few of the things I've discovered about myself in the past two weeks. I know that this is going to be an amazing experience that I can continue throughout my life. I've seen it change the lives of dozens of people around me. I will make the most of my life. If you have any questions let me know. If you want to attend the Power of Choice they have it every month. It is a three day course (Thursday 4-10, Friday 4-10, Saturday 9-7) The next one is happening September 13-15. I have golden tickets that reduce the price of the seminar considerably. If you are interested let me know. You won't regret it.
