2013 has been a crazy year to say the least. It has had it's up and downs for sure, but we are ending on a high note. Just a recap for everyone.
At the beginning of the year I moved in with Gavin's sister in Utah to complete my fourth clinical for graduate school. It was a great time to get to know them better and play with nieces and nephews. I learned a lot while I was there. Gavin and I parted ways in February, we thought it was forever. I went back to Idaho to finish up my last clinical. I ran into Gavin a couple times much to my dismay and we ended up deciding to be friends again the end of April.
Gavin, oddly enough, turned out to be my support as I found out that I hand narrowly failed my national board exam for physical therapy. He was there for me as I got offered my job in Wyoming and he was planning on going off to Hawaii for school.
I graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May. My family was very shocked when Gavin showed up to graduation. We were just friends of course (wink).
After trying to be friends for a few weeks, we decided that we were still loved each other and had a new found respect for each other. We decided to date again while he went off to Hawaii to finish up school and I moved to Wyoming to start my job in August. That only lasted until the beginning of July.
July 6th Gavin proposed to me again on a starry night, on the river bank. I of course said yes and we started to plan our wedding. After trying to plan our wedding for three months during our previous engagement, the amount of things we accomplished in a week of being engaged was miraculous to say the least. But when you only have a month there isn't much time to mess around.
After being married for just two weeks we ventured off to Wyoming to start our life together. I've been so blessed to have Gavin with me as I've struggled with work and life. Marriage is definitely an adventure. Gavin has been going to school at Casper College working on his bachelor's degree in social work. Gavin did really well this semester getting 3 A's and 1 B. Not too shabby for working full time and going to school.
Gavin has been working at Flanigan's furniture outlet as a warehouse manager and has already had 2 raises. They love having him and he has loved being appreciated for his hard work.
I joined a singing group called the Civic Chorale for a few months. It was fun to sing in a big group again, but it didn't work well with my work schedule and life has been less stressful now that I'm not going.
All in all 2013 was a crazy hectic year. I'm hoping things will slow down and mellow out as we start up 2014. Knowing my life that is probably too much to ask for. We are looking forward to seeing family at Christmas time and thank all of you who have helped us on our journey this year.
Have a merry Christmas!
