I do not regret taking this position. I have learned so much about managing my patients, advocating for what I believe is right, sticking up for integrity, meeting some amazing people, learning that the wind in Idaho is a small breeze compared to 70 mph winds, needing my husband to help me through hard times, decorating my own apartment, realizing how much working out and playing the piano do to decrease my stress levels (I learned this the hard way by not doing either for a long time), money doesn't make you happy, I love my family and miss them terribly...the list could go on.
Gavin and I both felt that our time here in Casper was coming to a close as we tired to decide if we were to buy a house or find a different apartment. After much prayer and visiting the temple we got the impression that we were supposed to do either. We were confused about this answer and weren't sure what another solution would be. As things got progressively worse for me at work, we decided that maybe we were supposed to look else where for work.
We set out to find somewhere I could enjoy my job and Gavin could continue to go to school. We also wanted to be closer to family. In our search we found a job listing for a hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho. I applied and soon after got a phone call to set up an interview. After a promising phone interview, we set up a time for a site interview while we were visiting for Christmas. The staff seemed really nice and the doctor was personable and had a love for his job.
After the interview I felt pretty good about everything. They gave me an unofficial offer and said they would get back to me. While I was in my interview, Gavin was out looking for housing. We had looked at some apartments the night before and decided we should look at buying a house. Gavin found one he really like so we both went back to look at it. We quickly fell in love with the house. The owners were selling it themselves, which we thought would be nice since we could save some money without a Realtor. We made an offer and expected them to counter. Turns out they were really that interested in moving and wouldn't budge on their price. I guess the good things in life take a little work.
We went back to the drawing board and after hours of looking found another house which was recently remodeled and had a lower price. After many phone calls and emails between lendors and realtors we made an offer and are working toward getting an inspection done and getting our loan finalized. It is a little crazy to think that we are going to buy a house, but I've wanted to have my own house for so long.
While things seem to be falling in place for us, everything continues to come with its challenges and a lot of effort on our part. We won't close on the house for a few weeks after we move to Twin Falls, so on this move we get to move twice in a short period. Believe me I am so ready to settle down.
